Kernes Adaptive Aquatics provides warm water exercise programs that help children and adults with special needs gain health, strength, mobility and confidence.

Our 92 degree water and skilled staff foster comfort, dignity and hope through 10,000 hours of instruction and exercise each year. We offer a wide range of programs, from fully-assisted to independent exercise and Aquatic Exercise classes.

The Josephine Kernes Memorial Pool has been an integral part of the Monterey Peninsula since 1972.

We currently have room in our Monday - Thursday morning exercise classes. Fun, gentle exercise restores your health and energy. Soothing water relaxes muscles and relieves pain. Being among friends renews the spirit. For more information call 831-372-1240 or fill out and return the enrollment application. You'll feel great!

Scholarships Available

If you have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or a Gulf War-related condition, you may be eligibile for a low or no-cost exercise program at Kernes Pool through a grant from the Catherine Curtis Springer Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. For more information or to apply, call the Pool at 831-372-1240, or return a completed enrollment application.
